Sony music is a music conglomerate and one of the big four names in the music industry, its a subsidiary of the Japanese company Sony and boasts some of the largest artists in the industry being signed to their label.
Amongst some of their largest names are Robbie Williams, Solange, James Arthur, George Ezra, Tyler the creator, Pharell Williams asap rocky and many more.
Within their company Sony have multiple labels, including black butter, relentless, ministry of sound.
One of Sony music's largest labels is Columbia records, home to Beyonce, the Rolling Stones, BTS and Mariah Carey.
Sony acquired Columbia as a part of the Sony entertainment group in 1988. later Columbia pictures was also acquired by Sony for round $3.4billion

In more recent years the largest scandal has been the 2016 boycott. allegations of rape and sexual assault from singer "Ke$ha" against one of the labels most popular producers "Dr. Luke" caused an uproar on social media with people being disgusted at the lack of action the label took and failing to let the young singer leave her 10 album contract. people responded by "boycotting" the label and a majority of its artists.
